Clay Associates offers multi-level classes for adults in wheel-throwing and handbuilding. Students are given broad latitude for self-expression, are encouraged to develop their individual skills and visions, and have the option to participate in the Spring and Winter gallery shows.
Our classes run on a 9-week quarter with class tuition based on the number of studio hours. Clay and tools are sold separately during classes.

Our Instructors
-
Eric Woods is one of the studio founders and teaches most of our handbuilding classes. He is endlessly dedicated to his students and cherished as a teacher. He’s well-known as exceedingly patient and humble; he would tell you that he owes this to clay and that he is still learning its lessons.
Handbuilding: Sections F/G/I/J/K
-
Warren Bakley brings his architectural background to his handbuilding classes and invites students to “let the clay speak to you.”
Handbuilding: Section H
-
Jerry Thiebolt is one of the studio founders and is in his fifth decade of teaching wheel throwing at Clay Associates. He has extensive handbuilding experience and has wall mural installations around the county. And he has a very wry sense of humor.
Wheel Throwing: Sections A/B/C/E
-
Mike Noble has been a student, an associate, and now a teacher at Clay Associates. With a background in education, he challenges his students to challenge themselves and move deeper in their ceramic exploration.
